Working with ArchiWildish Architects on this Stratford-Upon-Avon extension and refurbishment was an absolute dream for the KSW Team. As always, ArchiWildish made the whole process super straightforward and the final product turned out amazingly!
Stage one of this project was the removal of the existing conservatory and slightly battered awning to make way for the extension. There is great satisfaction to be taken from knocking things down, knowing that something spectacular will take its place! Once this stage was complete, the groundworks stage got underway with drainage and footings being completed rapidly making way for the build. The foundations were laid for the wraparound extension which revealed the scale of the space! The drawings made by ArchiWildish gave a good idea at a glance, but seeing the concept start to take shape was really impressive. Once the external walls and flat roof was created, it was time to get creative with glazing! Bi fold doors in a striking ultra dark grey were installed, which looked beautiful as well as functioning to bring the garden space to the home and increase the living space as well as allowing for loads of natural light to flow through the home. A roof lantern was added which looked absolutely incredible and super classy! This portion of the extension was designed to be used as a garden room and is perfect for lounging and relaxing come rain or shine! The addition of a WC/shower room and utility cupboard made good use of the space here aswell and makes the room even more functional for the homeowners.
Just beyond the garden room, through an opening, is the kitchen space. This flows through beautifully, with enough separation from the garden room to keep activities differentiated, but open enough to make use of the light and enjoy company throughout the space. The kitchen features a stunning aga and units which provides a continuation with the aesthetic of the whole space!
The flooring was created in engineered wood and gives a warm and natural feel to the space complimented by the blue/grey feature wall.
The extension on this property not only looks outstandingly beautiful, but adds value to the house and most importantly creates a wonderful living space to be enjoyed for years to come!
