Stratford-Upon-Avon Extension and Renovation

This single storey extension and renovation really transformed this Stratford-Upon-Avon property as well as adding value to the home.

The first phase began in the Autumn of 2019 with the deconstruction of the small sunroom and garage followed by ground clearance of the area to make way for the new extension. The footings were dug and the lower build completed in good time. The extension itself essentially linked the space where the previous sunroom had been and the jutting of the end of the garage, this meant that very little in the way of garden space was encroached upon and the space would be more efficiently utilised.

The second phase began in November once the brickwork on the extension had been completed. What once was the back bedroom was renovated to make space for the brand new designer kitchen. The reconfiguration of the room usage in this property made a world of difference in how the home would be used and how the space would flow between each living area.

The kitchen features contemporary cabinetry, bright open space and gorgeous velux windows which bathe the area in natural light! The cabinets are a stunning take on a traditional shaker style but a far more modern expression of the style, with large industrial style handles and angular lines the whole kitchen looks stunning. The fixtures and fittings compliment in a bold ebony, from the cooker hood to the mid-height ovens and vertical radiator in deep grey. The kitchen leads on to a brand new garden room which will be used as the primary lounging/entertaining space. The garden room features an incredible roof lantern which looks absolutely stunning! The whole garden room makes use of natural light and the large windows and glazed doors allow a connection between the indoors and outdoors of this home.

The area which was once the tired and under-utilised garage became a spacious and truly luxurious designer bathroom. With an ivory and sand colour scheme, the family sized bathroom has a spa feeling about it with its heated towel rail, large walk in shower unit and stylish built-in bath which links through to the shower unit. Every detail of this build was carefully considered and beautifully executed to the highest standards. Build in storage was constructed in the bathroom to make the most of the available space and to prevent the need for cumbersome units or freestanding cabinets which would close in the space unnecessarily. Although not identical, the cupboards nod to the kitchen cabinetry with their modern take on a traditional shaker style cupboard. Throughout the lower floor renovations we added electrics and moved plumbing around, installation of a new boiler system would ensure that the home would be efficiently heated throughout the colder months. Stylish vertical heaters were installed throughout the extension and renovation. Not only do these heaters look great but they are more efficient at heating a space and take up less space than traditional heaters.

This build was, at times challenging, but once completed it was all worth it. The renovation and single storey extension really modernised the home for the clients and elevated the space beautifully. The downstairs of the property now flows logically and every inch of space is carefully utilised with the clients' lifestyle in mind. The garden room is a wonderful place to lounge and relax and the amount of natural light that floods through the house even winter is brilliant. We really enjoyed the transformation of this home and are happy to report that the clients were over-the-moon with the outcome (as were we)
